The Braxton Brothers celebrate 30 years of recordings and radio, from their December 1996 debut, Steppin’ Out, to their new single, Still Yours. Twin brothers Nelson Braxton on six-string bass and Wayne Braxton on saxophone and keyboards bring a distinctive melodic partnership to contemporary jazz, R&B, and funk. Steppin’ Out reached No. 1 on Gavin’s Smooth Jazz & Vocals chart in 1997, introducing listeners to signature recordings including “Sunset Bay” and “When Love Comes Around.” In 2022, “Catalina Nights” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay chart. The Bay Area natives write, record, and produce their own music, with six studio albums and a continuing series of singles. Their live history includes Yoshi’s, the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival, and the 2024 Dave Koz Cruise.
Selected live appearances: Greater Hartford Jazz Festival (2019), Yoshi’s, Oakland (2023), and Dave Koz Cruise (2024).
